This is my first time on this site and I am so relieved to find others like me out there. My daughter is 23 and has BP traits, anxiety and depression. I am her main source of support and I am exhausted. The best way to describe our relationship is I am damned if I do and damned if I don't. I do nothing right. The flip flop of raging at me and then I turn into the best person in the world has got me so tense when I am around her. I also deal with depression that has been under control for years but I feel myself being pulled into that pit of despair again. I have an appointment with a licensed counselor for myself but couldn't get in until October. A lot of good that does me now. (I am very frustrated with the mental health system as a whole) My daughter has her own therapist but often does not go to appointments or sits through them and rages the entire session. She sporadically takes her medication. I have begun to browse through the information in the website and it has given me some hope that I can survive this. I look forward to hearing from you guys out there.

Hi Sherry54,
I'm so glad that you decided to post some of your story and reach out for support. Traveling the BPD road with an adult child can be lonely and confusing without others to talk to that understand.
Being in those no win situations can drain us of our energy, confuse us to the point we just want to give up, and frustrate us to the point of anger. Being a supporter and not fixer, enabler, or victim to our kids is how we can hold onto our sanity and reclaim ourselves/our lives.
I look forward to working with you to help you accomplish these things.
