Hi. I'm new here. My step-daughter has BPD traits. Her behaviors are getting worse all the time. The system prompted me to leave an introduction but I'm not sure I want to say much without first reading what other people are saying here. So I'm just going to say hi for now and start reading. I hope this forum is real, and is not just some advertising thing. If so, I look forward to meeting some of you.

Thank you,

Welcome Besteffort   You will find many people like me who have children with BPD . We are looking forward to hearing more from you when you are ready.  I know that when I came here about a year ago, I was at an all time low and the support and help I found here was a miracle.  You are not alone, we are here to help and support you.

Thanks madmom,

I've been lurking for a while now. I'm glad this board is here. Reading about other parent's experiences here has been both comforting and frightening. I am wondering if there are any meet-in-person support groups for parents raising borderline children (of any age). Is there a list somewhere so we can find one closest to us?

Thanks,

I don't know about any meet together BPD support groups, although it sure sounds like a great idea.  I went to NAMI's family to family session last year and it was good because I met others in my area who also were dealing with an adult loved one with a mental illness.  I learned some things from the class also.
