Hello my 21yr old daughter has recently been diagnosed with BPD. I have just watched one of the videos for family members and am in tears. I didnt fully appreciate how life is for my child. I was too defended coping with her behaviours. Now I get it and can walk along side of her without feeling so overwhelmed and dragged back to darker days from my own past.

Thankyou All

Hello humbledmum and welcome to the Parenting Board.

I'm so sorry that you and your daughter are suffering from her illness, I also have a daughter with BPD, she is 18.

You have accomplished a great thing by affirming your love and compassion for your daughter.  Keeping compassion is the key to learning the skills and practicing them effectively to benefit self, our kids w/BPD and our relationship with them.

I am glad you are here!
