Taking a step back. New BPD

I found another BPD that I started seeing recently but learned from my last experience to get through some of this. It is very difficult to see what is real and what is manipulation. The new person in my life has had allot of rejection and seems to test me the closer I get and when I say "testing", it is nothing but chaos. He seems to feel such low self esteem that he will do anything to feel good about himself and none of it is positive. I feel once again that he could be ok if he got help but will take me down with him if I do not act or he refuses help.

I am letting go and will let him find his way. There is a very good side of him but it quickly gets lost. Letting go is tricky because I do not want him to feel like I too have abandoned him. I am not walking out but taking a step back so I can be ok in my life.
