I am looking in to taking my 17 year old girl into a inpatient treatment facility. I have been looking at Willow Springs Reno Nevada. Is that a good fit for my girl? She has BPD depression self harm suicide and we all lover a lot. Is Willow Springs a great place for she to learn her skills that she needs to have a normal life? Has anyone else taken there child there? Good or bad?

Hello Hopethishelps,
Welcome to the Parenting Board, we are glad to have you here with us.
I don't have any experience with Willow Springs personally. It looks like they have a good DBT program.  :)o you know if the kids in the DBT program are part of the larger population of the center or are they completely separate? What other kinds of therapy do they get in addition to DBT?
It is a rather large facility... .116 beds. My d went to an RTC for 10 months and they maxed out at 24 beds. It was also not coed (intentional choice) and had many different kinds of therapy, I didn't want to put all my eggs in one therapeutic basket. We only had one shot to make the RTC experience count so we chose a very flexible program that we believed would fit her needs and challenge her to look inside and change.
What about Willow Springs makes it the right place for your daughter?
