Hi Everyone

This is new to me. My 15yr old daughter has traits of BPD. On the list of symptoms she seems to have every single one. While I am happy to understand what has been going on with her for quite some time now I am at a lost as a parent what type of environment I need to provide for her.

I am scared and so is she. Life for us has been filled with trauma and dysfunction to say the least.

I am hoping that I can find some support with this group. I never know what to expect next with her and just need to always be prepared for any eventuality.

I look forward to hearing from someone soon.

Regards

Fanciful Freedom,
I haven't been using the site for very long - but I've already found so much help from people who have experienced and are still experiencing the pain and stress of dealing with this disorder in a child.

Our son is now 43 and has cut off all contact with us and we have no idea what the reasons are.  I found out this isn't uncommon. We have been dealing with his problems since he was very young.  At 16 I had to put him in a hospital because he was out of control and I was afraid for him.  We saw many therapists but he would never cooperate or stick with it.  Luckily, when he was older, he finished college with a Master's Degree and has a very good job.  Then, the past several years he slid backwards and finally cut us out of his life altogether.

There are many books written about this disorder and they are listed on this site.  Reading over the years has helped me to understand what we're up against.  There are many other things on this site to help you too.  One of the most important is the fact that you are not alone. Post your concerns and questions and someone will get back to you. You can write to me anytime too.  Just send it to "Galaxy".

Take care of yourself.  I wish you well.

This is an excellent site for information and support , it's quickly become my " go to " place Smiling (click to insert in post)
