Just introducing myself.   I have a sister I am pretty sure is a quiet borderline. (She really fits the criteria and explains the problems I have with her.)

My therapist has been pushing me to limit my contact with my sister. I am trying to educate myself on her condition.

Hi there onesister

Welcome

I'm glad you found this site. It's packed with a lot of information that's been really helpful for me in my own journey, and it's a very warm and welcoming community of people as well. I think you will feel well here.

Here's a link to some resources specifically for siblings or kids of people with BPD:
https://bpdfamily.com/portfolio-parent. You'll find a lot of useful articles and links there.

How come your therapist is advising you to limit your contact with your sister? What kind of effect is it having on you personally? Can you tell us more about the family dynamic in general?  Is your sister younger or older than you? Do you live in the same household? How much contact do you normally have?

Looking forward to learning more with and from and about you Smiling (click to insert in post)

Hi OneSis your sister is very lucky to  have you!  It is a great idea to familiarize yourself with your sister's condition as the pieces to the puzzle may come together for you.  Check out the tools to the right as there are many tools/lessons. I've found the communication within our family has improved so much and it with utilizing these tools, listening, validating and much empathy.

Good luck in your journey and let us know if we can be of any help.
