What now?

Im new here. My husband and i have an 18 year old daughter who refused to get help, constantly threatened suicide and has given us no choice but to take her to the local homeless shelter. This happened last night. I think she is probably in the hospital now since there has been no activity on her phone. I feel terrible but she has made it impossible to help her. I am dreading the call that she wants to come back.

I'm so sorry for the pain and grief, for both you and for your daughter.
Was she recently diagnosed? What are some of the behaviors that you are dealing with?
We're here to walk with you.

Hello Loely, and welcome to the family. We understand and are sorry for the difficulties you and your family are facing right now. It's absolutely draining to watch and interact with a loved one that suffers from BPD. You have found the right place for understanding, education and support.
To the right of this page you will find some tools and lessons that will be useful to you in your journey. Knowledge is power, but don't overwhelm yourself as this is a marathon and not a sprint.
The first useful thing I learned was that we cannot change them, we can only change how we react and communicate with them. The tools and lessons help walk you through this process.
I also learned that sharing here was very therapeutic, and the more I shared, the more I got in return. If you feel comfortable, would you mind sharing a little more history and detail about your situation?
Has she been diagnosed?
Do you and your husband see a therapist to help guide you?
We are glad you found us... .we are here.

She was diagnosed with anxiety, depression and ocd in 5th gr. Inability to regulate emotions is something she has worked on in therapy but no one comes right out nd says she has BPD. She has attempted suicide several times and has been hospitalized at least 4 or 5 times. She is staying at an acquaintances house now and will hopefully finish out the swmester of high school. We had to tell her to leave because of her self destructive behavior and her refusal to change, accept help, and constantly threatening to kill herself. Its very depressing to watch as im sure many of you probably know
