Let me guess, your daughter is having trouble adulting, and instead of working through her problems, she’s making demands on you for help and/or money. Yet she’s not nice to you; rather, she blames you for her problems, and no matter what you do or say, nothing seems to fix anything? She insists that everyone else is making her miserable, and she typically refuses to get therapy or take medication as prescribed? Since she’s 25, you’re absolutely exhausted and frustrated after years of tantrums, rage, cut-offs and bracing yourself for the next crisis? Moreover, you feel alone, because nobody seems to understand how your beloved daughter can be so unstable and toxic, and treat you and others in the family so poorly? You might also feel like a failure, or maybe you’re in mourning, pining for a better parent-child relationship. If this sounds familiar, it’s because most parents on these boards can relate. Welcome, and feel free to share your story and ask questions. You might be surprised at how others are in a very similar situation.

Hi! My pwBPD (daughter) just turned 25; rather than bore you with the whole saga (I sound non-chalant about this, but only because I have been talking about it so long! She cut me, her father, sister & beautiful nieces "off"; she texts me here or there (if she needs something), I wish I could offer some help or a solution (the only thing...I found a therapist who specializes in parents of children with BPD); I am cried, begged, prayed...I guess I am just waiting it out (?); this has been 2 years...the first round of holidays I was so sad I did not want to get out of bed (Mother's Day was very , very hard), her bday was very, very hard; I have pored over pictures/cards....thinking, HOW did this get to this? I text each holiday/bday and mail a card with gift cards (as presents were never picked up) (I guess this turned into a story : ( please feel free to reach out, if you like and good luck
