My stepdaughter is being treated for BPD. We had a repeat event last week (2 1/2 years of the ups and downs). All the mental health care, no improvement. The therapists finally told us we're most likely dealing with BPD and possibly bipolar. We can't trust her. We're starting our work now but I'm not sure my marriage can survive. And it's had such an awful impact on my biological daughter. I'm so lost.

Hi Tiredmom#2,
Step parenting a child who is BPD is a challenge that almost gutted me.
I suspect my SO's D19 is also bipolar/BPD. She is diagnosed bipolar w/ psychotic depression but in addition to that has 8 out of 9 criteria for BPD.
What kind of treatment is she getting? How old is she, and how old is your bio daughter?
Not being able to trust a BPD loved one can definitely strain you, not to mention the marriage. Is your husband on board with the BPD diagnosis?
It sounds like your SD lives with you. What kinds of behaviors is she displaying?
