So, for the past couple of weeks, H has been getting out of his room more, and being productive. I think this is in part because he's in therapy, and his new therapist is actually good. This is also in part because he is good and sick of lying around in bed, and also because I have told him what I need from him to be happy. Lately, he's continued to push at me about getting a house. Over text today, after he sent me yet another house listing and was needling about it, I told him that I would get pre-approved for a loan once he got a job, and could come up with the down payment. I knew that this request was risky, and it could go either way, and I expected push back, but, to my surprise, he replied that he would enroll in real estate school (something he's been procrastinating about for six months), and that he'd applied to be a writer for a local publication. He also went on a bike ride, which meant that he wasn't sitting around all day, doing nothing. I'm shocked! I am going to encourage the heck out of this behavior. Once he feels productive, it'll give him some momentum at least.

HUGE victory today! I know not to expect him to sustain it long-term, but I certainly will praise and encourage him! Smiling (click to insert in post)
