VIDEO: "What is parental alienation?" Parental alienation is when a parent allows a child to participate or hear them degrade the other parent. This is not uncommon in divorces and the children often adjust. In severe cases, however, it can be devastating to the child. This video provides a helpful overview.

Pre trial conference tomorrow.  9 years post decree custody dispute, I am father of our two children now teen and 10 years.  BPDx was increasingly deteriorating as a parent over the years including major addiction issues. Last August I filled motion to modify parenting agreement when she disappeared for 3 months.  She had already abandoned any financial parenting responsibility which I wasn't going to court about but after she completely abandoned children I made my move.  I had been gathering data in calendars, emails, photos etc. for the previous year so I have to say my case is all evidential and she will have a very difficult time establishing any parental credibility.  I was granted emergency order last October and she can only see kids in therapeutic visits and she is still very aggressive towards children and therapist.  GAL even had to step in and warn her to watch her behavior. After 6 months of status hearings I feel like pre trial will be a big turning point.  I was lucky to have found a highly skilled attorney in 2011 who helped me get to a 50/50 agreement in 2011 and is representing me now.

Just looking for feedback about pre trial conferences and trials in general and how long between pre trial and trial in weeks is it usually.

Thank you in advance

Hi Mika,
It probably depends on where you live. So happy to hear you have been documenting everything. Our son has been seperated from his wife for 3 plus years. He has been trying to divorce his wife for close to 2 years now. Everytime they go to court something happens or doesn't happen so the Judge schedules it out another 6 weeks.  His Pre trial conferences have lasted like 20 min. Court has been longer, maybe an hour.    It's been a huge disaster and mess.  His uBPD wife has kept him tied up in court making false allegations against him (9 so far in less than a year) so CPS and DHS are involved. Hopefully yours will go smoothly. Good luck and keep us posted.
