Daughter has been recently diagnosed with BPD. She has been hospitalized twice, she is there now due to taking a large amount of pills. She was doing fairly well after leaving the center a month ago. She says she was not trying to commit suicide but impulsively wanted to stop her agitation and frustration. She just got back into school and we don't know if a longer residential place is the right move now.

I don't know but I'm in the same situation. This is my first post here. Third trip to the hospital this morning. Waiting for my mom for moral support before going to hospital. Taken out in handcuffs by three police officers. In my case everyone is already telling us residential but after two months of searching for someplace not to far away that our insurance would cover we gave up. Brought her home 6 days ago for a great two days at a new high school only to have her have two rages in a row last night and this morning. I'm scared for my own safety and can't do it anymore. I'm also realizing that each time these rages happen it is deteriorating our relationship. I want to be on her side and be loving and supportive. Not easy when she is threatening to throw a rock through a car window.
How old is your daughter? What part of the country do you live in? We're in Maine so there are very few options anywhere near us. Several really good options though if you are a wealthy... .Something is just plain wrong about that. It's kids. Really? An income distinction on help for our children. And many places you research have zero reviews or information about them.
