Until last week, these two family members (my ONLY living family now since my parents have died and my only other adult child was killed 18 years ago, the only person who validated me in our nuclear family) had me convinced that something was wrong with ME. Then I started going to my VA psychologist for severe PTSD... .first thing she told me was that she suspected I was dealing with people suffering from BPD of some variety. Wow! She instructed me to buy Randi’s books and it’s been so liberating! Lightbulb moments over and over again! Now to learn how to deal with these disorders and take back my self respect. I feel as though I’m entering college with a dual major

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders

ME TOO!
Briefly read your post, and will provide a full response, later on, this evening.
I am so sorry for your loss. 18 years or 18 days, this is a parent’s worst nightmare. Dealing with a Narcissist spouse and Borderline child as well is a challenge that would defeat most anyone.
You are pretty darn tough and smart, to stay on your feet, under the circumstances. I only recently found this site, but will confirm that you have come to the right place for support and guidance. There is much excellent content, emphasizing “deconstruction” of the CRAZYMAKING, manipulative and often abusive habits of both your NPD and BPD loved ones.
Stay strong,

Wow. I just wrote a long post to you and it disappeared!
I must have hit a button by error.
Will try again tomorrow.
