I lost it with my 17 yr old bpd daughter today & feel guilty. I won’t list the endless lead ups & frustrations & support that surround it.  When she started on the latest navel gazing/emotional analysis/social minutia deconstruction,  I felt unable to embark back into it with her & told her she was boring me. That she was making herself into an airhead and dullard. Throwing away every opportunity and doing nothing at all in life but lying around thinking about her latest social interaction. I know it was wrong, it was as if I could not help myself. The surrounding context & background would perhaps make me sound less hard.

Dogdays...I hear ya, we just want to say the obvious so much. Sometimes it almost feels good. My daughter did just that the other day when my BPDD called her to accuse her on not being there for her. Not knowing about the correct validation rules, simply shot back that she was responsible for all her decisions, stop playing the victim and blaming others, everyone is getting tired of it. She had a long day at work and didn't have time to rehash the same story over and over again. My DD has since blocked her...again. It's terrible to say this but I'm glad she said what we can't sometimes

You are only human. Please forgive yourself. Do you think it would help if you apologized to your daughter?
