My daughter was sexually abused by her father after our divorce for years, unbeknownst to me. She has always exhibited signs of BPD but I didn’t know what it was until my sister mentioned it. I am reading Stop walking on eggshells and it seems to fit. The problem is after her last outburst she has not spoken to me and has not let me see my four year old grandson. We are very close and before this I would see him at least once or twice a week and speak to him about every day. She said some horrible things to me and stormed out of a restaurant and then two weeks later called to yell at me again and hung up on me. She and her husband have been separated but from what I hear they have been spending more time together recently. He won’t let me see my grandson either. I’m so hurt. Any advice? Do I try to contact her again?

Hello Honeybear and welcome to the group. You have come to the right place for help and support. There are several people here who are grandparents and whose BPD children sometimes prevent them from seeing their grandchildren. I am sure they will soon come along to offer their advice about how to cope with this difficult situation. Meanwhile I hope you will settle in and make yourself at home here. You are not alone.
