Wow...that hasn't happened in a while.

The gist of it is that she wanted me to explain how I see Bible reading and prayer in my kids lives, when I would start giving examples, she would start talking and complain that I was the only one doing the talking and I needed to let her talk.

Wash rinse repeat a couple of times.

So I let her know I was willing and interested in sharing and to let me know when she was ready to listen and I exited the room, with her grumping in the background.

Burned out in less than 5 min.

I think she wants me to be an enforcer of my kids religious habits.

Best,

FF

Have you ever known someone who believed in you, someone who frequently spoke words of encouragement and praise? The kind of person who made you feel you could do it, whatever “it” was? That’s the kind of person God wants us to be, people who encourage one another.

I always am encouraged when my wife praises me. This truth came home to me once in a graphic, although silly, way. We used to take our sons to a video arcade, and I often played my favorite game. It soon became obvious that my scores were much higher whenever my wife watched and cheered me on.

FF, she may be focused on monitoring of directing the kid's religious life and habits because the issue of your son's GF being Roman Catholic having arisen.

That being said, the overtaking is a respect and consideration issue, no matter which topic is being addressed.

Walking out is a means of establishing boundaries.  If a BPD partner oversteps, this is a good way of dealing with it.  It means you are no longer engaging.  Good for you, FF.   Virtual hug (click to insert in post)
