We have finally decided to send our 16 year old to a residential school the district will pay for.  He has been in one before, we allowed him to come home thinking things were better.  The last year has been hell.  Drugs, sex, lying, stealing, violence.  He is now in a 30 day psych facility, but we need a good therapeutic school for someone with his problems.  Also, he in trans (assigned female at birth).  Any suggestions for placement.  Home is out of the question.

Good for you for making a hard decision regarding your child.  I  don't live in CA, so I can't  provide much guidance for you. .   My DS had to be in a therapeutic hospital for a year back in 2009 at age 15 for about a year and it did help him.
