How old is your BPD child?
It can be tough when you've experienced BPD through multiple family relationships.
This is a wonderful resource for working through things.
How are you holding up?

Thanks for asking, LivedandLearned - I guess the upside of having BPD in two generations (my sister and my daughter) is the wisdom it's forced on me. I've had to learn to accept who they are and adjust my life so I can enjoy this life and be there for the other people I care about. My other family members, my friends, my work, and everything this world has to offer - it's too much to let the BPD in our family eat up all my energy. But it's a constant struggle not to obsess over it. I try to accept the distance from my sister and daughter, when they pull away, as a gift, sparing me from their hurtful behaviors. And when they do show up, I try to enjoy them without getting trapped into vulnerability (FOG).
To be honest though, the stress of it all may be partially responsible for my heart problem and cancer (gone for now). But I have to take responsibility for that and keep up my efforts to manage stress. Like both of them (BPD's) I am very sensitive but I did not end up BPD. Who knows why some people end up BPD and others don't? Hard to say.
