We are on year 4 of our journey.  Originally dx'd as bipolar, meds have never really helped level out her moods and now new med provider is suspecting BPD.  We are so tired of fighting this invisible monster and I am feeling defeated and so very alone.

Hi Sun,
Hang tough!  BPD is a marathon, not a sprint and sorrowfully there are no quick fixes. Are you doing anything for self care ?You can hang with us while you are going through and we welcome you.  Know this- you are not alone.

Hi Sunfl0w3r

welcome, you are not alone!  Do you want to share some of the things making you feel so defeated?

One of the things that helps me the most is reading books about it, because then I feel a lot less alone and see how other people deal with these situations.  Marsha Lineham is very good and the one most people here recommend is Stop Walking on Eggshells.

You mentioned she just was now diagnosed with possible BPD, have you had a chance to learn much yet about it and try out some of the techniques for dealing with it?  I found the videos on this site, especially about learning to be validating to be helpful, tho I don't really do exactly what any of them say just seeing other people deal with the same issues is comforting.
