Thank you for taking part in this research or considering participation. We really value your time.

There is currently limited information on the experience of family members/ significant others supporting an individual with Borderline Personality Disorder. Using the information from this online survey, we are hoping to add to the existing research so that the experience of family members/ significant others are better understood. We hope that the findings of this study can be used by clinicians and organisations developing supports for family members/ significant others caring for people with Borderline Personality Disorder.

The survey can be completed by anyone (regardless of relationship) who is supporting or caring for a person with BPD.

Participation involves completing an online survey at this link:

https://cacsss.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6AyxG8Pc9VkuuNL

Participation is voluntary and anonymous. I will not be able to trace responses back to you.

Again, thank you for taking the time to consider participation in this research study.

Kind regards,
Aoife Hayes, Psychologist in Clinical Training, University College Cork, Ireland.

To the community,

Many thanks for your support and participation in this research study. We have received a high number of responses. Minimal research has been undertaken to understand the distress and wellbeing of carers/ supporters of people with Borderline Personality Disorder. We do hope our research will help better understand the experience of family members and carers of people with BPD  and hopefully inform the development and adaptation of supports for family members and significant others, in addition to informing pathways for future research.

The study will remain open until tomorrow, 31st October, if anyone else would like to participate.

Again, many thanks to this community and to those administering BPDFamily.com for supporting this research.

Warm wishes,
Aoife Hayes
