My adult daughter is spiraling. She was put on an antidepressant in the fall and existed in a manic state for several months. She is now getting on a mood stabilizer and is adding psychiatric counseling to the social work counselor (who she's seen since she was 10). She has resisted exploring childhood sexual trauma (we suspected at 10 when self harm began, but she has never discussed any circumstances). The floodgate has been opened. She's remembering and discussing (with therapists - not so much us), but is making risky sexual and financial decisions & just lost the job she loved (& was phenomenal at) due to her erratic decisions.  We feel so lost and scared and don't know how to help her.

Welcome
Self care is the next step for you and coming here to build up a network support is a great start.   It may not seem like it, but she is getting counseling and help which is awesome.  In the meantime you need to allow yourself to know you are as important as she is.  Take a look around this forum.  There is also a library of suggested readings here;  Learning all you can about BPD and how to have the strength to not allow it become a tornado in your life is primary right now.    Please write back as you are able.   You are among kindred spirits here.
