Hi I’m a mum of a 28 year old daughter I believe has BPD. I’m hoping to find others like me that love their child so much but understands the challenges of dealing with their frightening behaviour.
This is my first time on anything like this. I’ve no idea how it works.
I would be so grateful to anyone that has the time to talk to me and share experiences
Thankyou Rebbeca

Hi Rebecca,
I am also new to this kind of thing and don’t know how it works.
Although I have a great circle of friends they don’t really understand what it’s like to have a child with bpd.
My daughter is 20 and we could not love her more.
She is making some decisions that worry us greatly and has recently moved out with no way to support herself.
We re so scared of making the wrong move some days we just cry and I think I may have a heart attack because my chest hurts so much.
She is not receiving treatment although has in the past. I see someone just to help me understand and that has been a blessing.
The worrying for me is almost crippling and effects every part of my life work, marriage to her dad, my other daughter.
I am hoping people that have the same struggle may give me some peace.
Take care

Hi Rebecca,
Can you describe the frightning behavior a little?

My step daughter is 26 and we suspect has BPD.  She has cut us off from her children, they are 1 and 3.  This hurts a lot, but we are coping pretty well.  It has been a year since we had any contact.

Basically, my husband describes a pattern of not ever getting along with people, from teachers to classmates to her own bio mother, when she was younger.  She had a new best friend every 2 weeks.  The person goes from being put on a pedastal to being the worst person ever.

This is sort of what happened with her and I.  Although, I must have missed the pedastal part!  Laugh out loud (click to insert in post)

She has an older sister, and is very jealous of her.  They constantly vie for their Dad's attention.  When I met and eventally married their Dad, at first, they were both trying to impress me.  That didn't last long, however, because mostly they view me as competition now, I think.  They are in an alliance against me, and have made that clear to their Dad.

Anyway, would love to hear more if you care to share more.
