Curious about anecdotal evidence that shaving one's head is a sign of BPD

Just wondering what others' experiences are in regard to their loved ones with BPD shaving their heads. It seems like it could indicate a specific overactive area of the brain. My son gets in these states where he gets completely obsessed with the way his hair looks, and it almost always ends with him shaving his head. He's had this fixation on his hair his whole life. I also have had a similar problem in the past and am a lifelong nail biter. My sister also has a similar problem and is a lifelong nail biter. I found it interesting that when she was put on lithium years ago that that completely quelled her urge to bite her nails. I'd love to know if any researchers have looked into a connection.

Yes my son fixates on his physical “beauty” and he’s not thrilled he’s aging either. Over the years -teeth, nose, if fat, skin wrinkles.  Almost girl like or how I’d expect. Teen Girl might be..  -the what , bugs him cycles   But less so as he’s busier doing things like working.  Another trap.  Ignore.  I spent 8 k on 6 veneers that he now binge and purges no doubt will destroy investment in time.
Avoid - who cares if bald. It’s a style these days.
