Hi,
I'm looking forward to participating and learning but want to be sure I'm in the right place. My daughter is 32, a veteran and has a son who just turned one. She has dealt with BPD for years, and has benefited from DBT.  She moved to a new state, found out she was pregnant right before the shutdown, the relationship was fairly new, and the resulting stressors have taken a toll. She is not feeling able to regulate. She has been on a waiting list for a year and a half for a local DBT program.

Her significant other is also struggling with his alcohol use.

My husband and I are spending 4-5 days a month with them to help out with the baby, etc. It's difficult for me to understand how I can help her in her new role.

I'm sure there is plenty to read here!

Welcome and it seems you already are helping her.  Just being supportive is a help. Yes, indeed, there is plenty to read  here to find out more about BPD , there is even a library here on suggested readings. We are glad you added us to your own network of support.
