Hello,

Our 30 year old daughter just lost her job.  This is the 4th time we have had to bring her home. She became an alcoholic three years ago after a break up with her girlfriend. A few different therapists have told us they think she has BPD and she displays many of these characteristics. She has very few friends and overly relies on her lovers to meet her needs. This always ends in great pain and she becomes suicidal. She has been rated "severe" for abandonment and attachment issues. We are struggling to support her here at home and trying to set boundaries to try and help her move towards more independence.  At this point, we are trying to find someone else who can share their thoughts as we are really struggling to support her while also trying to maintain some normalcy in our lives.

Welcome.  You are definitely not alone.  Does your daughter see a therapist as well currently?
