Hi, I'm a mum in Australia. My 19 year old son has a new diagnosis of BPD, after many years of possibly wrong diagnoses. I am reading and learning and researching everything I can, to try to learn how to support him. He's terrified at the moment and in a terrible crisis, but refuses help. He is so sick of therapists and feeling ignored or put down. I feel like I'm drowning. I'm a single mum (have been all his life), my elderly mother lives with us - she's finding it hard to cope too. I just really need people to talk to who 'get it'. Thanks for listening.

Hi Strugglinozmum
I'm in the land down under too, and I think we have similar experiences! I was also caring for elderly relative with BPD dd. It is a really challenging situation.

Coming here was great for me. It is many years now since I found bpd family and I come here often still. Reading others' posts is a comfort to me and it also helps me understand that many of the symptoms I have to deal with are part of this awful illness.

Knowing that others out there are facing the same struggle, day in day out, gives me the courage to keep going when I am at my lowest ebb.

I hope you keep posting to let us know how you are. Take care of yourself - something else I learnt here!
