DS28wbpd and drug addiction just overdosed. again. He has been talking about wanting to die. I have honestly lost track of how many times this makes where he has tried to suicide. We don't know where this will ultimately go, whether he will accept the help that has been repeatedly offered (detox and a great rehab program) or get arrested for drug dealing. again. and go back to prison or suicide or God knows what. DH and I grieve the loss of the person he used to be and is still in there. we grieve the loss of " normal" family life( whatever that is) and the loss of a much deserved peaceful retirement years. I am betting I am not the only one in this group grieving the living. if so please know you are not alone.

On the bright side ( yes there is one) my faith has oddly never been stronger. One way or another God will work this out.

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders
