My 33 yr old daughter has bpd.   Aftermath of Covid and housing price increase caused her to move in w me (mother)
In Fla from Montana.  We are very close but stress caused her to dissociate one night and attack me.   I am desperately looking for housing and treatment in Florida.    Outpatient or inpatient. As this is a tough uncertain time. She has only ever hurt me.  The one who loves her and is there for her most?   If any mothers or anyone can relate to this?   Let me know. Need guidance.

Hi Carroll, glad you found us and reached out for some support. Having a pwBPD in your life can be beyond stressful -- we know that for sure here.

As your D33 is an adult, would she be open to suggestions from you about going to inpatient?

Or, given that she has unfortunately attacked you, is the path forward for her more "You can choose -- either inpatient (which I'll help you with), or living elsewhere, but you cannot live with me untreated"?

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is often considered a helpful modality for pwBPD. Not sure if you've tried this yet, but if you go to the psychologytoday.com website, you can search for treatment centers and then filter based on type of treatment offered. Try their link for Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Treatment Centers in Florida and see if that gets you started.

Feel free to check back in with us, whenever you need to. And again, welcome;
