Nervous about 14 yo BPD child being D/Ced from residential

My 14 yo dtr continues to self harm and display all the characteristics of her BPD dx in a very small, controlled residential tx facility. She’s been there for 6 months, and looks to be on track to finish the program in 2 more.
I don’t have the same incentives or authority as professional placement, and she struggles there with self harm and following rules.
Does anyone have experience with a child returning from residential? In the past she hasn’t hesitated to get physical with me, and was constantly calling CPS on me if I tried to implement consequences. I don’t feel either one of us will be safe if/when she comes home.
Hoping to get support and learn from other’s experiences!

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders

I haven't had a similar situation - my dd hasn't been in residential care - but I just wanted to say how much I feel for you in your situation. The differences between the care place and home are very real, and if your dd is still self harming, I wonder if she will be ready in 2 months to leave and come home.

I remember reading here some time ago that someone installed cameras in their home so that when cps or any authorities were called they were able to have the evidence of what actually occurred
It sounds as though your dd will continue to need support. The only thing I can suggest is that you think ahead and see if there is any way you can prepare for different scenarios - a sort of 'If this, then . . .'

Do you have any input into the decision that dd will come home? Can it be extended at all? I imagine you are at your wits end in anticipation of what might happen. Thinking of you . . .
