Hello everyone -

So, I joined back in 2017 to help understand/heal from a BPD relationship. I credit this site and you all for helping me go through that slow process of discovering why I brought this person into my life and how to heal from that relationship. I can honestly say that I'm a much healthier, happier person as a result of all of you + the books I read + therapy.

I was an established novelist before the whirlwind entered my life. And like some of you, I took the time to write down my story in a way that helped me process the relationship. It is my sincere hope that this book helps others navigate their own journey to peace and fulfillment. The book just released on July 4th (I picked that day given the political undertones in the story and my sincere hope these connections I draw can illuminate more than just the relationship between one person and a partner with BPD).

Here is a link to Rising Up: A True Story of Narcissists, Borderlines, and a Country on the Brink: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D122N6LZ?ref_=pe_93986420_775043100

There are also some initial reviews on Goodreads if you'd like to see those before purchasing the book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/210970046-rising-up

I set the price of the book low enough that it's (hopefully!) accessible to a wide audience. My goal is to get it in the hands of as many readers as possible so that it can not only help those who have experience navigating these kinds of relationships, but also for those trying to support them. Of course, I think most ALL of us have had to navigate them at some point in our lives.

One request I have for those who do decide to purchase and read the book is to please consider writing an honest review on Amazon so that additional potential readers can gain better insight into the book and whether or not it will help them too. Again, my goal is to get this in the hands of as many readers as possible, and reviews are crucial to that endeavor.

Thank you all again for helping me set myself free seven years ago and being a key part of my life.

Much love!

JL

PS - below is the book's full description:

Can a toxic relationship change your life for the better?

Serena and Greg are the perfect match: she’s a sexy, fun, charismatic yoga instructor, and he’s a laid-back regular joe with a heart of gold. And their whirlwind romance lifts them to dizzying new heights. But when the presidential election throws the country into a deep political and cultural maelstrom, one of the couple’s personalities suddenly splits in two.

Stuck in the midst of escalating psychological attacks, a steady stream of gaslighting and lies, as well as a mysterious disappearance on a tropical vacation, their tumultuous relationship slowly begins to reveal sinister secrets that bind the two together – secrets that expose lifelong wounds, as well as eerie parallels to America’s relationship with its president.

Only by rising up to their inner demons and following the guidance of their Higher Selves will both they – and their country – stand a chance of finding true peace and happiness.

Step into a deeply authentic and emotional novel that artfully weaves together astute political commentary, insightful reflections on psychological abuse, and a striking yet sympathetic picture of toxic codependent relationships.
