the problem for me is, I spent a lot of time and energy trying to help my friend wBPD not feel the 20 Common Negative Assumptions in her thinking. I failed anyway.
We can’t make anyone do anything. A person has to want to help themselves, and work really hard, themselves, to slowly start to make improvements.
You can’t do that for anyone. We can lend our love and support…but it’s up to each individual to actually do their own work.
That is true of everyone. It is impossible to help someone NOT feel or think a certain way…they have to work on managing their own thinking/feeling states internally, themselves…because it’s inside their body and their mind where it all resides.
