MC goals for today
«
on:

Today will be our first MC session since before the holidays.
We made it through the holidays OK... .a few dysregulations which I got out of the way of and let them blow themselves out.
My "plan" for today is not to focus on the dysregulation... .but on trying gain mutual agreement to slow conversations down.
I really like the analogy of BPD thinking and acting in "headlines"... and nons want to read the article.
I really don't understand many of the things she was upset about... .my hope is we can slow things down and chat some about those.
I'm going to stay away from talking about her mindreading ability... .that seems to be triggering when I go anywhere near that.
I'm hoping that ... .slowing things down... .will be a better thing to focus on for now.
Will be interesting to see what she wants to bring up...
Wish me luck!

Good luck FF. I think you have some reasonable goals and expectations from this MC session. Slowing conversations down helps a lot. I find that it helps me and my bf get on the same page. He has opened up to me when we mutually agreed on this. By the way, I love the analogy.

Looks like I'm going to start a new thread... .overall counseling went good... .we all agreed slowing down is good.
I actually ended up pretty triggered... .I think I've found a new boundary.
More in new thread
