I am so mad at myself today!

I live 140 KM away from my boyfriend so most of our contact during the week is thru text or phone.  So last night I called - no answer.  I texted and he "read it" but didn't respond.

So today I send my usually good morning text at 0830 - NOTHING

So as I am at work I steam then worry and play the what if game... . what if he's mad at me... . what if he is done with me... . etc

Why do I do this?  Because silence was the weapon of pwBPD and now I cower at it... . reality - people get busy and sometimes texting isn't an option or tired or whatever... .

PD traits attacK!

Does it ever get better?

I think the healthy way to handle it is tell your boyfriend how what happened made you feel, and how you'd appreciate something as simple as "can't talk now, call you later" or whatever so you aren't left wondering.

Contrast that with how it would go with my BPD ex: everything would be my fault, my feelings would get invalidated, and nothing would ever get resolved.  Screw that, we deserve better, and sometimes we have to ask for it.

I don't see this as a problem with you.A few hours missing a text is fine, but not responding isn't,especially if he's your bf.You called and got no answer.Well,I have the crappiest phone on the planet and I STILL know when a call is missed.

How long have you two been dating,if I may ask?

We have been dating for 6 months officially... . we have been seeing eachother on and off for 2.5 years.  During that we would go months without talking.

To add to the issues my bf has Asperger's Syndrome which can make life interesting for us both!
