How much do you tell?

When I went out the other night to the pub with an old friend (i had managed to explain it to in the hope of forgiveness of how i treated her ) we were talking to a couple of guys. She gave her number and since then the other guy and i have been casually chatting online, I have told him that in no way shape or form am i looking for a relationship. We have skirted around my ex and why we broke up. He has said he genuinely just likes my company and as newish to the area would be good to have someone to meet for drinks etc.

Do I tell him everything so he can see where im really coming from so he knows there really is no chance of a relationship or do I keep quiet, or just never meet up with him?

I dont want to sit and talk about my ex all night as thats what im trying to move on from but at same time unsure if he should know the full story as often certain words/sentences etc... . can really trigger it all back in me

I would find it uncomfortable if a new acquaintance or casual date were to talk very much about their ex if they talked about their ex at all. If he asks, you can always explain it is too painful for you to discuss at this time.

You are doing great to go out with friends and to realize you don't need to be in a hurry for a close relationship right now.
