Has anyone else noticed that tempers get shorter as the days get shorter?

I find that my uBPDh is much more moodier and short tempered now that the days are shorter.

He won't use the SAD lamp I bought... think I'm going to need it soon if he's going to be like this for the next few months.

Ugh, the shorter days.  Sorry to hear you're experiencing the moods of your H during this time.  Can't say it's a BPD thing for sure; a lot of people experience this as it segues into the holiday season which is hard for a lot of folks, too.  A double-whammy. 

Might not be a bad idea using the lamp yourself Smiling (click to insert in post)  I have one, not because of my partner, but because of my own issues with the lack of daylight, feeling more tired than usual and feeling pulled in a lot of different directions during the holidays with work and family obligations.  There just doesn't seem to be enough time for everything! Waaaaa... .  (lash out lash out )

Think your hubby might be experiencing something similar?  Can you think of ways to validate him without invalidating him?

Keep writing things out, froggy!  And take good care of yourself; exercise, enough sleep, wholesome foods... .  Slowing life down while sticking with the basics helps to stay centered during stressful times Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)

This is an issue for my uBPDh too, as he is a native of a warmer climate and his major trigger is wishing we lived there.  Coming near the holidays definitely piles on multiple triggers at once.  He also won't use a lamp, but we both know the one thing that helps him is exercise.  Despite knowing it helps, every year it is tough for him to get the motivation to join the gym again (he always quits each spring when he starts exercising outside again).  I am thinking of signing up both of us just so he will have the membership, but am hesitating because he may perceive it as me trying to "fix" him.   I hope you can find what works for you.  Exercising helps me too, and so does listening to upbeat music, and baking  Smiling (click to insert in post).

I KNOW he has SAD I know I do as well to a lesser degree. He just refuses to use the lamp... .think he enjoys being miserable.

He's been fairly even for awhile and I just have to tune it out again.

It just gets wearing living with someone who is miserable 75% of the time... the other 25% he's sleeping Laugh out loud (click to insert in post)

As for me... I'm out every day with the dog and I try to exercise 4 or 5 days a week... I have MS and I need to keep moving and my muscles stretched out ... keeps me mobile and the muscle pain down.

the shorter days are always trouble for my BPD g/f as well. she is very low right now and she stoped her meds again. this has been the worste year we have ever had as a couple. we have only been seeing each other again about a month and its been hell. she gos from high to low three or for times a day.
