A Great Christmas Present

My BPDd21 called me from Texas yesterday (we live in Vermont). She moved there about 6-8 weeks ago... .after she left here being addicted to heroin, breaking and stealing from relatives, as well as businesses.
She finally got a job in a daycare. She's great with kids. I'm hoping this gives her the emotional and self confidence boost she needs. She's been very depressed while her boyfriend has been going to work and meeting new people and she's been "left behind" with no one. (Even though they are living with his parents she's been feeling quite alone and abandoned, and very sad because this is the first Christmas she's not been with us - which has been as equally hard for me.
I'm so happy she's got something to look forward to. She sounded great on the phone - I'm hoping they are staying clean but it's hard to tell with them so far away.

Conflicted,
What a positive contact with your DD. Embrace this positive time with her. It is a gift. She needs you and your unconditional love.

Hi
Thanks for sharing your good news and your positive hopes and wishes for your daughter. It encourages me to hear about things that young BPD people are especially good at. It seems like a lot of them are very kind and caring, in the right situations.
Many best wishes, Merry Christmas,
Bracken
