Communication type during devaluing/discard stage

With my ex (believed) BPD, one thing I did notice was that 99% of the communication we had when she was discarding was via text or e-mail, I would call (as am a bit old school) Anyone else notice this. I guess it's less connected and does not require much effort.

I had the mind games where she used to always have the text "read" option turned on on her phone, this changed to just always "delivered" status, I guess another little tool in the toolbox to leave you guessing. She'd sight being busy at work, meetings etc etc as to the very tardy replies and yet when I looked at my old phone there were some messages that I hadn't deleted, it made very interesting reading before deleting them. She used to text all day! I did notice the content was all highly sexually charged, should have been my first "red flag" then!
