Seasonal Affective Disorder

It's cloudy and dismal where I live.  Seasonal Affective Disorder is very common here.  In the following two winters when I was with my xpwBPD, she became more and more depressed as the winter went on.  I know she has a depression comorbidity but her behavior towards me grew more gruesome as the winter went on.  Both times, she left me in the spring before the snow left and the days lengthened.  She's with my replacement now and I can't help but think she is receiving the same cycle of cruelty.  Just curious if anyone else had a partner that seemed so profoundly impacted by the seasons.

Mine didn't but I believe I have it. I've always gotten more depressed as it turned colder. As fall turned to winter I would always get some form of depression. Funny thing is that the one thing that always made me feel better (at least for the last 6 years) was my exgf. So obviously this year has been tough. She broke up with me this summer and I'm still depressed and the season just makes it worse. I'm a non btw.

Mine definitely did. His cycle gets worse as the daylight diminishes and hits its all time low around beginning of may. HE slowly recovers and is in his best state around sept. or oct. I have pointed it out to him in the past that he deteriorates as winter progresses until he totally loses it in May.

My exe's devaluations and rages would worsen in the winters in Canada the 10 years that I have know her. By springtime the pendulum would swing from devaluation to idealization. She's been gone for nearly two years. I still get PTSD and anxiety and dread. I dreaded the onset of winter with her for many years. Albeith, this second winter the triggers were easier to cope with. I don't miss her seasonal affective disorder.
