Hi jmunger,
I'm so sorry I'm just seeing your post now.
I'm not familiar with residential therapy tho this Lesson on inpatient/outpatient services might have good information for you:
https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=114267.msg12588412#msg12588412There is this poll on RTC too:
https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=206109.msg12288138#msg12288138Maybe Blaise Aguirre's book on Adolescence and BPD might also be helpful? I understand your D is 25, though if I remember correctly there is good information about residential therapy in the back of the book with other resources, and maybe even a whole chapter (sorry, my memory of what each of the books offer has blurred together... .)
There is also lbjnltx's experience with a RTC for her teen daughter that may give you an idea of what you can expect:
https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=120563.msg1188708#msg1188708And last, I found the book Buddha and the Borderline to be so helpful in understanding a first-person account of a BPD sufferer's walk through treatment. I cannot remember the author tho she describes DBT in a way that helped me understand what it is like in practice.
Hope this helps.
We're here to walk with you, you're not alone
