VIDEO: "What is parental alienation?" Parental alienation is when a parent allows a child to participate or hear them degrade the other parent. This is not uncommon in divorces and the children often adjust. In severe cases, however, it can be devastating to the child. This video provides a helpful overview.

Moved out of the house tonight that my BPD ex and I shared for 3 1/2 years. I was supposed to be able to stay through the end of the year but his new girlfriend of a week pretty much made me get out without any notice.

It was hard having them stand there and watch and whisper together as my friends, Mom and I moved stuff out.

The new GF has BPD too and has completely controlled my EX. I have never seen anybody so mean and vile in my life.

Anyway today is a new beginning for me and I've started on my way to recovery. Just a couple of things. One, his kids from a previous marriage. I love them and promised I'd still be in their lives. If its up to her I'll never see them again. She told me that they said they don't like me and don't want to be around me which is a lie.

Second they took a beloved family pet that I took care of. I paid the vet bills and fed etc. I'll do antyhing to get the pet back at this point. Right now I'm taking just one step at a time.

Hi tammym1972,

Wow, that escalated rather quickly. I'm sorry you have had to leave your home. Where are you staying now, with family/friends?

It's a new beginning for sure—how are you feeling about all of this?

Right now I'm taking just one step at a time.

I think that is a very wise decision.  Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)

Hi tammy-

Just checking in, I'm with heartandwhole, one step at a time is wise, lots of transition for you right now, and now that you're out you can get a little grounded and centered and start processing and grieving the relationship.  I do hope you get the bird back, and remember, his relationship with her is brand new so how things are right now may not be how they stay, and hopefully you'll have an opportunity for some closure with his kids too.  Take care of you!
