Terrorist atrocity in Manchester - I want to reach out to my affair partner
«

The terrorist atrocity in Manchester has made me want to reach out to my ex. I know the likelihood of her having been there is very small, but it makes you start thinking about how precious life is. For me, momentous events like this transcend personal pain and takes it into the sphere of the universal. I have relatives in Manchester who were at the arena on Friday and it has hit me very hard.
All I can do is feel the powerlessness I have over people, places and things and hope that my ex is safe and well.

Thanks happenedtome. I think the likelihood of her being there is very small but it just made me fearful.

Hi RomanticFool.
I do understand how you feel, my ex g with BPD who recently separated from me both live 8 miles outside of Manchester city centre. She goes to work in the city centre a few days a week. Parts of the city & their surrounding buildings roads etc have been in lockdown/cordoned off since it happended last night. I have persuaded her to work from home the remainder of the week, despite finishing with me & trying to reconcile, i worry about her immensly somebody i love & care about Difficult here in Manchester at the mo.

Thanks Gemsforeyes. This is not just a problem in Europe. I'm actually an American citizen even though I live in the UK and this is a global problem of Islamic fundamentalism trying to bring the caliphate to the world and impose their values on Western democracies. Waging war on Iraq brought 9/11 about in New York and the 7/7 tube bombings in London. You guys also had the Boston Marathon bombing and the Orlando gay club shootings.
What we are witnessing is homegrown Jihadis being radicalised by so called Islamic State and bringing brutal massacres and suicide bombings to the West. The UK is currently on critical alert and we are expecting another attack imminently. Western democracy is under attack from fanatics.
I don't know what the solution is but we must try to stop our youngsters becoming radicalised. People like Trump are making things worse by attacking Islam. That is just making more homegrown Muslims angry and making it easy to radicalise them.
In terms of what we are on this forum to discuss, the whole thing just makes me want to contact my exBPD and go running back into her arms again for cold comfort.

Dear RF-
I understand your desire to run back to your ex's arms for "cold comfort" and am glad you realize that is exactly what it would be. For an instant, I thought of contacting my ex-boyfriend to share sadness about the attack, but decided the contact would hurt me. So instead, I cried, yelled obscenities in my home, read the boards and then talked about it with a few friends.
I agree with your statements about the person who currently carries the title of president of our country. His rhetoric sickens and scares me... . I'd better stop.
