Hi Can you give me advice?

Hi there: My daughter has been suffering with mental illness as young as 5 years old. She's been diagnosed with depression, anxiety disorder, adhd, obsessive compulsive disorder, drug abuse. She has not yet been formally diagnosed with BPD. I truly believe she suffers from this disorder and she won't get help. She has no faith/hope therapy will help. She's been in and out of treatment and never felt relief. She's on 6 different medications - some she takes regularly and others on an as needed basis i.e. panic attacks or insomnia.
Can anyone offer me any advice you might have for effective ways to have a conversation with her about treatment?
I am at a loss of what to do/say when she refuses to get help. My response has been "when you are ready there is treatment that can help". She pushes back insisting nothing will help.
Thanks for your ear.

Hello Claireybeary and welcome.
Patience is a virtue and a lot of times that patience is tested to the brink as we deal with our troubled children. You have certainly come to the right spot to find you are not alone.
Personally, I think the response you give ("when you are ready, there is treatment that can help" is a good one. You can't do it for her. Sadly, she is the one who has to make the choice... .be receptive to treatment. Other than that, it is to keep listening, to keep communication open with your daughter... .letting her know you are by her side.
This is not an easy journey for you nor any of us on this forum. As parents we want to be able to fix what is wrong with our children. If only they would stop hurting... .then we could stop hurting.
One piece of advice I will give you, Clairebeary, is to find time to look after yourself - something/anything... .that gives you a breather... .brings a smile on your face.
Once again, welcome. For me, some comfort has come from pouring out my heart in a post, then getting a response... .like getting a hug. It is important to know one is heard... .and you, Clairebeary, are being heard... .and support is here for you.
