I work in the mental health field, have read every book on BPD, support staff in how to most effectively support clients with BPD, etc. and still struggle almost daily with my relationship with my mother. I’m tired and don’t know what else to do.

Hi, Franthecat. I’m sorry that you’re feeling this. It has to be hard to treat others that are suffering from this dynamic, only to realize that you’re suffering from the same thing. Thank you for coming forward with that given your profession.

I can feel the exhaustion. What this comes down to is what you want for yourself. Maybe that’s a whole different way of thinking for you. Don’t know. What I do know is that more experienced individuals will be here soon to help you sort out a solid route. Welcome to  bpdfamily. We’ve got you.

How are you struggling with her? It might be good to tell us a specific example and we can work from there (I'm sure you have a lot though).
