Advise for a new comer? Sister with BPD

I am almost finished reading the book "Stop Walking on Eggshells" and I am inspired to join an online support group.  I have struggled with my sister since she was a small girl and even more as we got older. People used to tell me she would grow out of it or she is jealous. I always knew there was more to it than these simple statements.  While reading this book I am finding a deeper level of empathy for my sister while also learning to respect myself and new emotional boundaries.  It's been an emotional journey so far and health issues have arisen along the way. I am excited and nervous to implement the things I have learned in this book. For the last year, I have pretty much limited my interaction with my sister to family events.

We'd love to hear more about your experiences with your sister. Can you give us examples of specific experiences with her? Anything in particular stand out about what you read in Stop Walking on Eggshells?

I join pursuingJoy in welcoming you to the group    We all have someone with BPD/BPD Traits in our lives, the members here really do "get it".

When I first found out about BPD I started reading too, so many things that were chaotic began to make sense.  

Can you tell us more of your story?  Is other family in the picture?  Has your sister been diagnosed with BPD or are you like me and the shoe just fit?

I'm glad you decided to jump in and join us, there is support, information, tools and just a place to vent when you need to on this site.  I look forward to hearing more from you.
