15 year old son

Hello! This is my first post and I am hoping to hear from others that are experiencing some of the same challenges as me. My 15 year old son was diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome when he was in first grade. The comorbid conditions of depression and anxiety arrived around third grade. When he entered 6th grade, the anger began. He is currently in 10th grade and was recently diagnosed with BPD. He actually checks each characteristic of the disorder, especially the anger and rage when things do not.go how he thinks they should go. Here is our dilemma - the Children's Hospital told us today that he is not severe enough to meet the requirements of their DBT program. He apparently needs to be more of a harm to himself or others. Although, at the evaluation, the doctor told us that she is "quite concerned about his anger and impulsivity" and how the two together effect the safety of our home. So, he will see his therapist once a week, which does not seem like enough, but he does not qualify for the more intensive program. Has anyone else been in this position? What did you do? At this point, we are trying to learn as much as we can. We will make sure he takes his medications and attends therapy. I will be beginning mindfulness activities with him. Any other ideas that could be offered? Thank you!

I'm sorry what brings you here, I'm also very glad you joined us. There is much wisdom and experience here to support you, you are not alone.

This reeks to me of either lack of resources and foresight things can get worse, or that your son is not ready to engage in helping himself yet. I'm not sure what country you are in.

Have you considered making an appeal? My view is they have a duty of care and need to fulfil it. What do you think?
