I am brand new to this site. I have been married to the same girl for 40 plus years. I am 64, so I have never not-been with my wife. Therefore I don't know what it's like to live a "sane" exsistance. I have been near divorce countless times. We have separated a number of times. I love my wife an d now-realize that she is sick. I don't want to leave...but I need tips in our day to day life. I have just purchased the audio book and that will help, but it's also overwhelming. I need some "cut to the chase" points.

I think the first strategy which you probably know is to not get sucked in to a spinning rant that goes nowhere... Allow there to be a distance, walk away from a battle within ten minutes, and when there's disrespect, say, Don't talk to me like that. I don't like it. No excuse for abuse. I hope things get better for you!
