VIDEO: "What is parental alienation?" Parental alienation is when a parent allows a child to participate or hear them degrade the other parent. This is not uncommon in divorces and the children often adjust. In severe cases, however, it can be devastating to the child. This video provides a helpful overview.

It’s been over a month since we’ve split up. We haven’t spoke except for the short convo a week ago when he apologized and said he would send me back all the gifts I gave him (he didn’t, my therapist said this was just an excuse to reach out). Most days I feel okay. Today, he officially moved across the country to go to culinary school. From Texas to New York. It was a rough week. I was supposed to be up there with him, helping him move in. He’s officially almost 2000 miles away from me. I hurt, but I also feel peace.

Why would you want the gifts back that you gave someone?

Take it one day at a time, marv1995. I can only imagine how you're grieving.

Are you able to do any self care?

Just seeing this, Dad. I didn't want them back, I told him to keep them. He randomly texted me saying he was going to send them back.
