VIDEO: "What is parental alienation?" Parental alienation is when a parent allows a child to participate or hear them degrade the other parent. This is not uncommon in divorces and the children often adjust. In severe cases, however, it can be devastating to the child. This video provides a helpful overview.

My boyfriend talks about god a lot, about his own personal god and that whenever I am wrong, I am going against god. he wouldn't say he was religious though. I understand him. But he uses it as on way to emotionally crack me. He is Indian and I am Scottish. He uses racism ALWAYS. Everything I do, it's because I'm a ~ing white fascist/slag/whore/racist... .

YES - She's religious, sometimes posts scripture and religious images to her Facebook wall.

NO - She's never used it against me in any way.

Mine is not religious. No. He said he was "raised" in a Christian home, but now he is not a Christian. I personally think he was raised in a very strick religious environment.

I am Christian; however not raised in a strick religious environment and attended church only sporadically.

Sorry, I’d love to give the simple “YES” but…. Lol

YES, she “Found God” & would constantly throw at me that I was not living by God’s rules because I did not unconditionally support her wishes. Meaning, if she wanted me to join her in the abuse of our kids to “Protect her & support her” then I was BAD if I did not. Even explaining to her that supporting things that I know are wrong is against God’s plan did not get through to her. We (family) would go to church on Sunday morning & she was the sweetest person in the church, singing, waving her hand in the air & showing everyone just how close to God she really was. Then as soon as we walked in the door at home it was “FU*K” this and got to “H*LL” there &  “if you don’t like it you can pack your $hit & get out of MY house”. Some of the worst fights we ever got in were on Sunday after church. If I asked her if that is how Jesus would act, I had better duck! Lol…. She would have TV preachers on all day, started listening to nothing except gospel music & forcing the kids to either watch her tv programs & listen to radio or read their bibles all day long. Then she decided that they needed more God in their lives so she started making them get up an hour early for school so they could have a bible study in the morning which was really just another opportunity to aggravate and belittle them. I had to put a stop to that one real fast by changing my work hours a little so I was there in the morning & did not leave for work until they left for school. She actually got really mad at me one time because I had been trying to get in touch with her for several hours with no answer. She was mad because I kept trying about 4 times over about 5 hours, it was an important issue to do with kids. She yelled at me & told me, “I was on the mountain with God & I you are interrupting me & you should know better!”. I have so many of these kinds of stories.

She puts on the good show for everyone outside the family walls… Sorry, wish I could have done a simple YES….

We are in the process of divorcing & all of the kids live with me & have no desire to see her. They are old enough to have input in that decision with their lawyer & courts.

My dBPDw is incredibly religious and has used the scriptures like a skilled tactitian to attack me (her father was a minister).  Most recently she has suddenly decided to stop drinking and stop listening to secular music.  Since I drink (rarely) and listen to rock music, she has been bashing me from her ivory tower.  She's stated that she was a the lowest point in her life when she married me.  Now, she has risen from the ashes.

I'm a born-again Christian and have been since I was a young man.  This sanctimonious, pious and sell-serving attitude is just icing on the cake from someone that has walked all over me these past seven years... .  she's lied, cheated and stole from me... .  That's the kind of stuff that gives Christians a bad name.

Yes, mine is very religious.  He has worked for years at a Christian University.  He appears to use his religion wisely in that when he is depressed, he will often read the Bible.  Written at the bottom of all his emails in a quote is: To God be the glory!  He has a deep respect for religion and his only male friend is a very Christian man.

Interesting poll I might add.

I would have to say no he is not religious,  because he often says that God has BETRAYED him,  just like everyone else.  Wow.  Sad.

And yes,  he has used religion to mock me because I feel that my faith is strong,  and he will say things like "so you've found God now,  is that it?  You've got the holy Spirit now,  huh? I don't even know you! "

Sometimes I feel like he is possessed and needs an exorcism

I know that's not really true,  but sometimes I feel like I'm living with Satan!

Yes on both parts.

She is a conservative christian and I am a very liberal christian/agnostic.

She uses this against me all the time.  She says she wants to go to church regularly.  I didn't like a few churches we went to, but actually felt pretty comfortable in the last one.  We went for a few months, and then she just stopped saying anything about going.  When she gets angry, though, she will always say we don't go because of me.  It is one of our worst subjects... .  so like so many others I try to avoid it at all costs.

Definitely!   My BPD believes the end of the world is coming because people are truly evil and filled with hatred.  We are on a path predicted by the Bible.  There is nothing to be done about... .  it is God's prophecy.  The UN wants to have one universal government that takes the rights away from individual countries.  All weapons will be confiscated by the government and wealth will be distributed equally.  Civil rights will disappear.  There will be mass murders, wars, and disease that kill off about half the population on Earth.  This is a necessary measure to control population and resources.  This is clearly mapped out in the Bible, Koran, and religious documents from various cultures.

He tells me daily to check the online news resources because mainstream media does not report what is actually happening behind the scenes.

Oh yes, and he believes President Obama is probably the Anti-Christ.
