I find it really difficult to fully explain the pain of my relationship with anyone who isn't familiar with BPD.

I'm getting a referral on Friday for some therapy through work, and have an initial assessment.

I'm not sure what they'll ask.

I'm worried they'll just say I'm having a reaction to the breakup (duh) and that it'll get easier.

I feel the need to really explain the pain and confusion but don't know where to start in a timed session - I know I need the help but I'm worried about how to best explain the situation?

Any tips? (She's just a general therapist).

What type of therapy works for us nons in this situation?  As I know she can refer me to the most appropriate person.  Thanks.
